Virginia PACE, the political action committee of NASW-VA, is pleased to invite you to meet elected officials at a reception at the prestigious Bull and Bear Club. The reception will be held during the conference (Friday night), about one block from the Omni Richmond hotel. You will have the opportunity to meet and network with elected officials. Many of our state senators and delegates have been invited. NASWVA presents a Pre-Conference Leadership Institute on Thursday, March 6th and the "Recharge Revitalize Reinvest" 2008 Annual Conference March 7-8 at the exquisite Omni Richmond overlooking the James River, in the heart of the historic and financial district.  REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!  It is recommended you review the Workshop Summaries before starting the registration process.  You may find it helpful to print a copy of the summaries to assist with registration.  Highlights of the conference include:  Pre-Conference Institute on Thursday, March 6th with keynote speaker Collette Walker Thomas. Annual Conference March 7-8 with Claudia Black, MSW, PhD, a renowned author and trainer in the substance abuse field, who will present the keynote address Friday, "The Addictive Family: The Legacy of Trauma"  Ms. Black will also conduct a 3 hour intensive training; "Strategies in Transforming Families" NASW-VA Board of Directors Meeting, Thursday, March 6th, 5:30pm (Open to Members). Who Should Attend: All Social Workers, Other Human Services Professionals, and Mental Health Professionals including: Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, CSAC's, and Case Managers. NASW-VA has been designated by the VA Board of Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors, as a pre-approved provider of professional continuing education programs for social workers and other mental health professionals.
