Free Registration Opens: Members-Only “Am I Doing This Right?” Supervision Peer Support Group Meetings September 25, October 22
NASW Virginia and Metro DC chapters have partnered to offer free, small-group virtual gatherings of up to 16 members each month as a safe forum in which social work supervisors can discuss workplace situations and other supervisory-related issues with supportive, knowledgeable peers.
Registration is required for these complimentary meetings, and participants earn 1 CE for attending each of the noon to 1 p.m. events.
The next meetings are September 25 (theme: "Essential Tools for Supervisors and Supervisees: Enhancing Documentation, Assessment, and Goal Consistency") and October 22 ("Competing Urgent Demands: How To Be Consistently Present with Your Supervisee(s) as a Supervisor"). Deadlines for registration is September 23 and October 20, respectively.
“Social work supervisors often don’t have colleagues who understand their unique needs, stressors, and workplace quandaries,” says Debra Riggs, executive director of both chapter partners. “These lunchtime meetings create small groups of confidants who can share and learn from each other in a safe, confidential environment.”
